I would like to say a big THANKS to Mrs. Stephanie Kidd who submitted and received a Math Achievement Grant for our school in the amount of $40,000.
Mrs. Kidd worked many hours, outside of school, analyzing data to show a need for the grant monies. I only aided with some leadership information and specific need trends, she did the rest.
Again, thanks for recognizing the need and showing the initiative to do something about it. This is one more example of why we have a great school – Great People, doing Great things for kids!!!!!!!
We know we have a need to offer more assistance in math to our primary kids and this grant will allow us to be very creative with interventions.
The grant monies will be in place for the 2015-2016 school year.
*And, if my information is correct we are the only school in Floyd County to receive the grant.
